3 Interesting Ways Downtown Associations are Using Bandwango Passports
Downtown Associations and Business Improvement Districts enjoy Bandwango’s flexible technology and real-time reporting. With the ability to track real visitors and locals to downtown business locations, our association partners are coming up with inventive ways to get consumers to see the value in frequenting city centers. Here are 3 interesting ways Downtown Associations are using Bandwango’s platform.
1. Food Hall Check-In Challenge
Food Halls were heavily impacted during the pandemic, so they represent a contingent of merchants who need support from business improvement districts more than ever before. These food hall check-in challenges are PIN# based and represent a fun opportunity to drive purchases at multiple locations within a short period of time.
⭐ Example: DLTA Food Hall Favorites pass was a curated list of favorite dishes from Downtown LA's hottest food halls. Included were staples from historic Grand Central Market, TASTE Food Hall, Halo, Jewelry District, and St. Vincent Court. Every check-in got passholders closer to winning prizes!
2. Restaurant Weeks/Months
The Downtown dining scene gets hotter than ever during the weeks and months when our clients launch passports encouraging people to check-in or cash in on deals and discounts. The best time to launch these passes are in low-seasons like January or September.
⭐ Example: In October 2022, Downtown Colorado Springs diners were invited to become local food scene VIPs with their Culinary Insider passport, which offered exclusive access to select Downtown Colorado Springs culinary destinations. Culinary Insider passholders got access to off-menu treats at renowned restaurants, breweries and distilleries while earning special rewards. The pass allowed the Downtown to donate $1,000 in proceeds to the Food Industry Training program offered by Pikes Peak Workforce Center and Pikes Peak Library District.
3. Seasonal Check-In Challenges
We’ve launched crawls, trails and everything in between for seasonal celebrations like Halloween, Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day and more. Is there a season everyone gets psyched for in your Downtown? Let’s see how we can craft a compelling campaign around the holiday spirit and get more people through the doors of your local businesses.
⭐ Example: The Knoxville Peppermint Trail is launching in November 2022, which will mark the pass’ second year on the Bandwango platform. Check out their success from last year in this case study!
